Position Description

Screed Operators are responsible for the safe and proper operation of the equipment. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the Foreman.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Note:

The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:

• Match all paver joints and maintain consistent joints
• Keep screed adjusted properly and maintain mat quality
• Assist in handwork as needed
• Sets up screed electronics in conjunction with Paver Operator
• Assure proper storage and maintenance of all screed equipment
• Job site clean up

Position Requirements

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL

• Enforce all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook
• Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met
• Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental rules and regulations

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Field Environment
  - Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat
• Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low-level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.

ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY

• Reporting to work on time, after lunch, and not leaving early unless authorized
• Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence
• Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off
• Performing such other duties as may be required
