Technician ; Locator

This position is responsible for assisting Technician II's, Senior Technicians, and Electricians with both technical and non-technical work.

• The primary function of this position is to locate DOT-Traffic underground facilities.
• Additional responsibilities are to assist with the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, repair, and refurbishing of traffic signals, street lighting facilities, and electrical systems of bridges.
• Duties are performed and evaluated under the general direction of the Public Works Senior Project Manager through routine meetings and occasional on-site inspections.

• Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED equivalent and one year of experience in locating underground facilities, maintenance of traffic signals, streetlights, or in the electrical trade.
• Possession of a Level I IMSA Certification, or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment is required.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required.

• The work hours and days for this position are Monday - Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must have knowledge of applicable computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
• Experience with Sunshine One-Call System of Florida and field locates is preferred.
