Job Description
The QA & CI Senior Analyst is responsible for all Quality and Continuous Improvement related activities required to successfully deploy the quality assurance corporate and plant standards/procedures and to drive the site toward top-performing operation. The role oversees manufacturing-related quality and CI functions at the site, including the enhancement of quality functions, product and process audits, internal/external product testing, coordination of quality and continuous improvement events, identification of lean opportunities for improvement, training and education of site personnel on lean concepts, and implementation of lean programs from inception to completion.
The QA & CI Senior Analyst reports directly to the Facility Plant Manager / General Manager with strong dotted-line reporting to Corporate Senior Regional Quality and Continuous Improvement leadership.
Responsibilities- Handles Quality Assurance/Control site functions at a tactical level
- Acts as a key contact for suppliers and customers on quality-related issues
- Executes effective methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training
- Deploys and validates approved revisions of existing methods and procedures to improve products and/or processes
- Manages all CTQ, prioritization quality matrix (QPM), problem solving, and other modules as part of the Corporate Quality strategy
- Executes and maintains all reporting documentation for quality-related topics as required
- Provides support for all company-established quality programs as required
- Ensures measuring equipment calibrations are performed and kept up according to schedule
- Works with suppliers striving to provide defect‑free components for use in the manufacturing process
- Aligns data collection and analysis with organizational quality objectives
- Manages all lean concepts, Kaizen events, and other modules as part of the Corporate Continuous Improvement strategy
- Facilitates and leads the continuous improvement process by identifying training needs and providing training in problem-solving methodology, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
- Engages the leadership team in setting and achieving goals utilizing Lean initiatives, working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements in specific areas
- Participates in annual planning of Kaizen Event activities to support Site Strategy Deployment based on Value Stream Mapping and Waste Analysis, and sets quarterly priority for Kaizen Events to deliver step‑change results (30/60/90‑day outlook) at the target pace for the site
- Ensures that CTO (Cost Take Out) and CI activities are aligned with goals for each plant and with the Regional CI Manager
- Provides input and feedback to key leadership positions about process improvement opportunities
- Coordinates Kaizen event training to ensure the site has broad base capability in all primary Lean tools and is self‑sufficient for monthly and on‑demand training requirements
- Collaborates in the hiring, leadership, development, coaching, supervision, evaluation, and disciplining of departmental staff
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Six Sigma certification is a plus
- At least 5 years of manufacturing experience and at least 2 years of quality experience or continuous improvement experience
- Enthusiastic about the value quality and continuous improvement bring to the manufacturing process and passionate about keeping technical skills up to date, understanding best practices, and deploying quality systems and Kaizen events to achieve prescribed goals and targets
- Displays a strong ability to use data to rationally analyze and solve issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff and run events
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
