The Role
Join a dynamic Progressive Care Unit team caring for patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level nursing in a 46-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5–6:1. This travel nurse position in Fort Myers requires floating between PCU units and Emergency Department holding areas to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Deliver skilled nursing care to acutely ill patients requiring progressive monitoring and timely interventions.
- Perform thorough assessments, administer medications including titration, and monitor vital and hemodynamic signs utilizing telemetry and advanced clinical equipment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans and promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage documentation in Epic EMR with accuracy and adherence to clinical standards.
- Assist with patient care activities including mobility support, education, and emotional support.
- Adhere to floating assignments to sister campuses and units as needed, embracing teamwork and flexibility.
- Active Florida RN license in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or equivalent acute care nursing experience.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Degree accreditation on profile or at least 5 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied patient acuity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a helpful and engaged attitude towards patients and staff.
- Flexibility to work within a 50-mile radius floating requirement.
