Salary Range: $52,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually
OverviewThe purpose of this position is to lead and supervise production associates and attend and assist Managers in the day to day operations required to ensure efficient operations of production. Run and operate production and all equipment correctly and efficiently, making sure everyone is doing their job. Respond quickly to personnel issues and emergencies. Assist other in making production more efficient.
Apply GMP and all plant rules and violations. Report deviations and problems within the plant to a manager. Make executive decisions, while working with the quality department to ensure a health and safe, quality product.
- Production Supervisor Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- This role has responsibility to achieve productivity- efficiency- customer service- cost- quality- safety and employee engagement objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction- leadership- development and support to direct reports through empowerment- teamwork- on-the-job assignments and continuous improvement projects and initiatives. Develops- implements and promotes safety programs and safe work practices through involvement in plant safety teams- programs and initiatives.
Promotes sound employee relations within the department by developing and maintaining an effective organization with qualified personnel. - Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Enforces safety and sanitation regulations per food safety and quality guidelines.
- Responsible for initiating appropriate actions that address Food Safety concerns, including escalation to Quality and Management.
- Utilizes all food safety and food security guidelines, including Safe Quality Foods (SQF) good manufacturing practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
- Directs and coordinates the activities of the employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as packers and machine operators.
- Oversee and coach employees.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
- Check production output according to specifications.
- Submit reports on performance and progress.
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
- Train new employees in how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
- Manage and approve direct reports timecards for payroll purposes.
- Resolve equipment repair needs and initiates maintenance work orders to minimize production downtime.
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
- Appropriately handles employee concerns and complaints.
- Must work various shifts and hours including holidays and weekends.
- Other job duties as assigned.

- BA/BS Degree in Business
- Food Science
- Engineering or related field is preferred. - 2+ years of experience in supervisor role
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- The ability to lead- motivate and mentor large teams of hourly associates is required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong analytical/critical thinking
- Strong accountability- consistency and follow-through skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management.
- Familiar with GMP, KPI, Food Safety programs, OSHA, other regulatory agencies.
- Experienced with computer systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
