About Cypress Lake Golf Club. Fort Myers, FL. Cypress Lake is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by renowned architect Dick Wilson and renovated over its history by Arthur Hills, Ron Garl, and fully restored to its original design by Ron Forse in 2018. The club is not affiliated with any real estate nor located within a gated community. There are no pools, fitness centers, bocce ball, or pickleball, and there is not a large social component outside of golf-related events.

We have over 150 single-digit handicaps with strengths in getting tee times, finding a game, and walking anytime of day for no fee.

Position Overview

Title: General Manager

Reports to: Board of Directors

Supervises: Director of Golf, Golf Course Superintendent, Food and Beverage Manager, Controller, Director of Membership and Marketing, Facilities Maintenance Manager and Head Tennis Professional.

Position Description: The current General Manager (GM) is retiring after over 15 years and the new GM will oversee all daily operations while driving an exceptional, golf-focused member experience. This leader will manage clubhouse, golf, grounds, dining, and social activities with a focus on operational excellence, financial stewardship, and continuous improvement.

  • A record of success in a similar quality club that has a verifiable history of strong members or guest satisfaction and support with a passion for maintaining the highest levels of service.
  • Possessive of strong organizational skills and attention to details necessary to achieve high levels of quality, satisfaction, and outstanding member experiences.
  • Effective financial management skills through oversight of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Uses plans and metrics to set goals, measure, and report on performance, and make corrections when needed.
Experience And Qualifications

Including, but not limited to, the following:

  • PGA General Manager or CMAA Manager with a strong golf acumen preferred, or experience equivalent.
  • Five years of experience as an Assistant General Manager, General Manager or Director of Golf preferred.
