About the Role
The Assistant Director of Court Processing and Assistant Director of Customer Experience positions provide both strategic and operational oversight across customer service and court processing functions. Successful candidates will guide multiple teams, support organizational initiatives, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, state reporting mandates, and internal policies.
You will work closely with the Director of Courts & Official Records to execute the Clerk’s mission, improve service delivery, and foster a collaborative, high-performing workplace culture.
Responsibilities- Leadership & Strategy
- Support and execute the Clerk’s organizational vision and mission.
- Provide leadership to customer-facing and court-processing teams, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional service.
- Serve as designee for the Director of Courts & Official Records when needed.
- Promote a culture where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered.
- Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily operations for customer service, court processing, and official records functions.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Statutes, state reporting requirements, and administrative orders.
- Monitor performance, analyze trends, and implement process improvements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, external agencies, and judicial partners.
- People & Project Management
- Direct, develop, and support departmental managers and supervisors.
- Interview, hire, promote, and onboard qualified team members.
- Lead and support projects of varying size and complexity.
- Assist with budget planning, staffing decisions, and resource allocation.
- Customer & Stakeholder Support
- Act as a point of escalation for complex or sensitive inquiries.
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of public records requests.
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field and at least five years of progressively responsible management or senior-level leadership experience.
- OR a combination of nine years of education, training, and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of the role, including five years of progressive management or senior management experience.
- Knowledge of Florida Courts, statutes, and government operations is highly desirable.
- Strong Leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Experience with project management, process improvement, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use tact in sensitive situations.
