Job Summary

The Digital Communications Lead manages the Tax Collector’s digital platforms, including public-facing and internal websites and social media channels. This role ensures digital communications are engaging, accessible, accurate, and aligned with agency brand standards and objectives.

Operating under the direction of the Chief Communications Officer, the Digital Communications Lead establishes digital content standards, oversees publishing workflows, analyzes performance metrics, and develops creative strategies that connect the agency with the community.

Main Responsibilities Digital Platform Management
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the agency’s public-facing and internal digital platforms, including websites, the intranet, and social media channels, to increase engagement, awareness, and trust.
  • Oversee all editorial, visual, and functional aspects of agency websites, including usability, performance, and compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessibility standards.
  • Apply user experience (UX) and accessibility best practices to improve how the public finds, understands, and uses digital information.
  • Ensure all digital content is current, accurate, user-friendly, and aligned with established brand and content standards.
Content Creation & Storytelling
  • Write, edit, proofread, and publish digital content across platforms, translating complex government information into clear, accessible messaging for the public.
  • Lead the creation and execution of social media content, identifying platform-specific messaging approaches and opportunities.
  • Develop creative digital content ideas that connect agency messages to relevant cultural moments and community interests, while ensuring alignment with brand standards, accuracy, and professional tone.
