Hiring Range: $70,720.00 - $ annually

About This Position

Gulf Coast Medical Center stands as our largest campus and is designated both a Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. With 699 beds, Gulf Coast Medical Center delivers advanced, specialized care across Critical Care, Oncology, Orthopedic, Colorectal, Vascular, and General Surgery service lines. Our Acute Care Therapy Services team helps deliver programs like Animal-Assisted Therapy, the Early Activity Initiative, Why Not Home, and our In-House Rehabilitation Programs to achieve exceptional outcomes.

In this role you will examine, evaluate and test individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess ongoing effects of intervention. The OT designs, implements and modifies treatment interventions to alleviate impairments and functional limitations. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury and promoting fitness, health and wellness across all ages.

The OT will be engaged in administration, consultation, education and research, and will conduct themselves in a professional manner. Core success attributes include critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, constructive feedback, and effective use of time and resources, with stress management and commitment to learning.

About Our Rehabilitation Team

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest in the region, with over 700 licensed professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans. We offer specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation, spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health and outpatient settings.

What

This Position Requires
  • Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience: No previous job experience required
  • Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)
  • License: Active Florida State Occupational Therapist Licensure
