Facility: Ambassador Healthcare at College Park
Position: Receptionist
Location: Fort Myers, Florida
Shift: Part-Time | 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour
Job OverviewAmbassador Healthcare at College Park is seeking a friendly, professional, and dependable Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our facility. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff while supporting daily front-desk operations and maintaining safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Answer incoming telephone calls, determine the nature of calls, and route them to the appropriate department or individual
- Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voicemail when staff are unavailable
- Provide callers with general information, including facility address, directions, and services
- Operate the paging and telephone systems as needed
- Coordinate resident calls by directing them to nursing units for residents without personal phones
- Greet visitors warmly and direct them to appropriate offices or resident rooms
- Monitor visitor access, sign-in procedures, and front-door activity, including elopement risk residents
- Offer beverages to visitors waiting for administrative staff when appropriate
- Ensure visitors comply with facility rules and policies
- Maintain updated directories including resident room lists, emergency contacts, department extensions, and on-call personnel
- Maintain a list of critical residents or residents restricted from receiving phone calls and route calls appropriately
- Monitor the presence and location of vendor and sales representatives within the facility
- Maintain positive communication with residents, families, medical professionals, and external healthcare organizations
- Strictly adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements at all times
- Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred
, but not required - Nursing home or long-term care experience preferred
- Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Flexibility to work weekends and occasional weeknight shifts as needed
- Supportive and team-oriented work environment
- Meaningful role serving residents and families
- Stable, part-time schedule with consistent hours
