• The Project Engineer will support the Project Manager in managing commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects, and develop skills to progress toward a Project Manager role.
• Assist the Project Manager to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
• Review, select, and submit project documents in collaboration with PM and project supervision in accordance with the construction schedule (e.g., submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, subcontracts, operation and maintenance manuals).
• Provide field employees with the necessary support to allow the project to be completed expeditiously.
• Assist PM in extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
• Assist PM with equipment releases and tracking.
• Support construction project meetings and documentation.
• Act as liaison between trades and other departments within the company.
• Distribute, follow up, and respond in writing to all punch list items in a timely manner.
• Conduct on-site visits to gain field experience and assess productivity, material and equipment efficiency, and contractual performance.
• Gain industry knowledge to provide technical assistance and support (engineering, interpretation of drawings, recommendations on construction methods and equipment).
• Participate in weekly staff and project management meetings.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by PM and Regional Manager to support branch and company operations.

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or an equivalent combination of construction and/or engineering office experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds frequently; capable of physical labor including lifting, pushing, pulling, and transporting materials, tools, or equipment. Manual material handling to comply with OSHA safety standards and company policies.
