South Florida Caterpillar Dealer seeking a Training Instructor for the Ft Myers branch. The role supports dealership technicians by providing troubleshooting expertise, identifying skill gaps, and delivering technical training to improve service skills and professional development.

• Design, develop, produce, and deliver technical training materials and instruction for dealer technicians, customer technicians, and company personnel to improve/maintain service skills and professional education.
• Provide new product introduction technical training to people who support the product.
• Participate in needs analysis studies to determine training needs within the organization.
• Meet with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring employees to understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
• Decide on the type and quantity of training materials and instructional methods; determine whether to produce in-house or use suppliers.
• Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
• Select/develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
• Select/develop testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training.
• Conduct training sessions covering areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, apprenticeship programs, customer service, sales techniques, health and safety practices, public relations, refresher training, promotional development, upgrading, retraining displaced workers, and leadership development.
• Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
• Revise training curriculum and methods to improve effectiveness regularly.
• Present courses in traditional classroom settings or in virtual interactive computer-based formats.
• Meet and communicate with technicians to resolve product issues; work with manufacturers’ technical support and product groups to resolve product issues.

Desired candidates should have a college degree in engineering or education, or equivalent experience in progressive training assignments involving classroom instruction, design, development, and delivery of training courses and materials. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and extensive knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures. Continuous education and staying current with industry changes through factory programs, virtual learning, conferences, etc.,

are expected. Utilization of resources such as DPC (Dealer Performance Center), Convergence, Channel1, and other platforms is encouraged to stay up to date on new product information.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
