Overview

Our office, Southwest Florida Oral Surgery – Fort Myers, is seeking a talented surgical assistant to join our busy specialty practice. This role also brings an exciting change of scenery – you’ll get to travel to our beautiful Cape Coral and Naples locations while expanding your professional network!

Responsibilities

You will ensure excellent patient service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the Dentist’s shoulders. You will be focused on ensuring that the patients' needs, concerns, and questions are answered. You will help keep the patient relaxed and comfortable during their visit, being the patients go‑to resource during their visit which includes the following:

  • Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
  • Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating the surgeon's needs.
  • Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
  • Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare and provide post‑operative instructions and materials to patients.
  • Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.

As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

Schedule Requirement

Monday–Thursday 7:30 am–5:00 pm and Friday 7:00 am–1:00 pm.

You’re kind, passionate, and collaborative, able to proactively adjust to shifting priorities, and value the chance to make an important impact.

You also have the following:

  • OMFS experience preferred.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience as a surgical assistant, specialty preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Well‑organized and reliable.
  • A high school diploma.
  • A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law).
  • An active state radiology license (if required by law).

Pay

Position base pay range: $21.50 – $25.50 USD.
