Managing Consultant - Multifamily Development & Construction - FloridaThe Assistant Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in overseeing daily field operations for multifamily construction projects. This role is responsible for helping coordinate subcontractors, maintaining site safety and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed according to schedule and plans. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, motivated, and eager to grow within a general contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities- Field Operations:
Assist the Superintendent with daily on-site supervision of multifamily construction activities - Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient workflow
- Monitor daily work progress and report issues or delays to the Superintendent
- Help enforce project schedules and sequencing
- Quality Control:
Verify work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and local building codes - Assist with inspections, punch lists, and quality checks
- Identify and report deficient work and follow up on corrective actions
- Safety:
Enforce company and OSHA safety policies on-site - Participate in safety meetings and ensure subcontractor compliance
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Documentation & Communication:
Assist with daily reports, logs, and photo documentation - Help track manpower, materials, and equipment on site
- Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors
- Schedule & Closeout Support:
Assist with short-interval planning and look-ahead schedules - Support project closeout activities, including punch lists and turnover documentation
- Help prepare units for inspections and owner walk-throughs
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in commercial or multifamily construction
- Experience working for a general contractor preferred
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of building codes and construction practices
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Fort Myers, FL
Preferred:
- Multifamily construction experience (garden-style or mid-rise)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Plan Grid, Bluebeam, or similar)
