Overview
Join the Child Life team at Golisano Children's Hospital in Fort Myers, FL and help children and families navigate hospital experiences with care, play, and compassion. Although certification is preferred, candidates who have completed their 600 hour internship can join our team and sit for the CCLS certification exam within the first 12 months.

Provide evidence-based, developmentally and psychologically appropriate interventions including therapeutic play, preparation and education that support and reduce fear, anxiety and pain for infants, children, youth and families. Promotes the philosophy of family-centered care and meets the psychosocial needs of children and families during their hospital experience.
Educational Requirements- Bachelor’s Child Development Required
- Bachelor’s Child Life Required
- Bachelor’s Child and Family Studies Required
- No experience required
- Completion of minimum of 600 hour Child Life Internship Required
- CCLS (Certified Child Life Specialist) Required within 12 months of hire
- BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support) Required within 3 months of hire
