PositionSurgical Tech - FT
Shift: Fulltime, Varied shifts
How You ll ContributeYou ll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. Maintain the sterile field in the operating room, ensuring proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
Reports to:
Director Surgery/OR
- Prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order.
- Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
- Passes instruments to physicians during surgery and continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies.
- Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Requirements- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred;
Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred. - License /
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date - Experience:
Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
