Description
Director of Ancillary Services - FT - Req #
Responsibilities- Manages all areas of the Clinical Laboratory, Cardiopulmonary Departments, Therapy Departments, and Radiology including administrative, technical, clerical, and personnel aspects of the department.
- Recruit and maintain adequate staff within the budget guidelines of administration. Maintain the morale of the personnel.
- Assure regular staff continuing education activities.
- Interact and consult with physicians about patients and problem procedures.
- Ensure cooperation of Lab and Cardio personnel with each other, other hospital employees and the medical staff.
- Assure timely and accurate reporting of clinically useful results.
- Maintain the Ancillary Departments operation within budgetary guidelines and ensure revenue is within projections.
- Consult with Ancillary Departments staff on problem results and equipment troubleshooting.
- Assure compliance of the Ancillary Departments with outside regulatory agencies.
- Investigate all complaints of the Ancillary Departments services and counsel with personnel who are having trouble maintaining hospital and department standards.
- Degreed ASCP registry or equivalent, graduate of an accredited program of Radiological Technology, or graduate of an AAMA approved Respiratory Therapy program with a state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
- Experience Required
:
Must have 3-5 years clinical supervisory experience preferred - Special Skills & Qualifications
:
Effective interviewing and counseling skills are required to interact with all levels of hospital staff, medical staff and patients; must possess good organization and planning skills; must have the ability to work independently, be able to prioritize work, be flexible; experience in continuous quality improvement, elevation techniques, teaching and hospital operations is preferred; have excellent human relations/communication skills to maintain good working relationship and communication with all staff.
Must possess the ability to use the following equipment:
Telephone;
Fax Machine;
Calculator and Computer. Must be willing to work any shift. Must be willing to work periodic overtime and be prepared to take call as requested.
