Physical Therapist - PRN - Rotating Schedule - Req #

The Physical Therapist provides evaluation and sets up treatment programs for all patients referred to physical therapy; provides physical therapy treatment to referred patients; writes and reviews patients progress reports, including charting, and reports to referring physicians; consults with prosthetists/orthotists and suppliers of patient care products; provides correct information on Medicare and Medi Cal and all other forms; provides correct statistics and billing information for Physical Therapy patients;
educates staff in departmental/hospital concerns and instructs new staff in safe body mechanics; attends department and hospital meetings as appropriate and serves on various committees; orients and trains new and continuing staff regarding scope and needs of the Physical Therapy Department; and performs other duties as assigned.
Degree / Licensure / Certification / Registration
:
Requires graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelors or Masters Degree as appropriate. Requires a current and valid Arizona license. Requires continuing education and training to maintain Arizona licensure. Must have current CPR Certification.
Experience Required
:
Physical Therapy Experience preferred.
Special Skills & Qualifications
:
Must possess the ability to delegate tasks to subordinate team members and oversee their performance. Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must possess the ability to effectively function in a stressful environment. Must be able to maintain confidentiality on large amounts of information.
Must possess the ability to prioritize work, and to perform the essential duties of the position. Must perform physical therapy evaluations and treatments for patients of all age groups, and cultural backgrounds in an accurate and cost effective manner. May be exposed to infectious diseases and emergency situations. Must possess the ability to use the following equipment:
Telephone / Overhead Paging System / Fax Machine / Calculator / Computer / All rehab equipment. Must be able to work any scheduled shifts. Must be willing to work periodic overtime. Completed Competency Based Skills Checklists for unit(s) assigned.
