Quality Technician Lead oversees Quality Technicians regarding the development and administration of internal and external processes and regulations, protocols, and policies. You will help create and maintain test data and perform testing and reports results to ensure a consistent, high standard of quality for company processes and products.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, government regulations, and internal quality requirements across all manufacturing activities.
- Perform detailed inspections of incoming raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products at multiple stages of production.
- Analyze quality data and generate statistical reports related to materials, processes, and finished goods performance.
- Identify root causes of scrap, defects, and nonconformances; recommend and support process improvements to reduce waste.
- Develop and maintain quality controls, inspection methods, and work instructions in collaboration with production and leadership teams.
- Maintain accurate quality documentation and records to meet internal requirements and external audit expectations.
- Monitor process performance and recommend improvements to manufacturing parameters; implement approved corrective actions.
- Track and evaluate trends in scrap rates and out-of-spec materials; define corrective and preventive actions based on data analysis.
- Support defect prevention initiatives through participation in FMEA and risk assessment activities.
- Assist production teams in minimizing downtime through process analysis and quality-driven improvements.
- Conduct process audits and quality management system audits as required.
- Apply statistical methods to process control, continuous improvement initiatives, and experimentation.
- Interface with suppliers and customers on quality-related matters, including onsite visits when necessary.
- Review calibration, validation, and maintenance records to ensure equipment is compliant and operating within specifications.
- Prepare quality action reports and provide training to employees on quality processes and procedures.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality-focused role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in PV solar module manufacturing strongly preferred.
