Network Security Engineer

Description

This Engineer will possess technical expertise and engineering skill, which allows her/him to grow into a leading subject matter expert for both Investor and Advisor themed technology, as well as enabling Cloud-based solutions. This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment, assist in identifying requirements and facilitate implementation, while following appropriate change control and release processes.

• Promote hands-on, white glove customer service experience supporting all environments.
• Maintaining on-prem and cloud-based computer networks from a Network Security perspective (Firewall and Load Balancing).
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving problems, as well as designing and implementing network security solutions.
• Collaborate with Project Managers around project tasks.
• Assists with coordinating changes across multiple systems.
• Follow and contribute to policies, procedures, and standards.

Bachelor's degree or technical institute degree/certificate or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge / Experience in the following skill sets:

• General understanding of firewall technology, both on-premise and cloud.
• Experience managing Cisco FTD and Palo Alto firewalls is highly desired.
• Knowledge of native firewalls in AWS and Azure is a plus.
• Working knowledge of network security products such as DDoS, proxy, VPN, firewall orchestration, is a plus.
• Ability to work with developers on firewall rule creation and troubleshoot logs for remediation.
• Familiarity with working with security-related technologies in a regulated environment.
• Experience with Scripting (Python, Power Shell, JSON, YAML, etc.).
• Experience with Automation Tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills to assist teams in isolating the root cause of incidents and issues.
• Understanding of Service Mesh Technology.
• Understanding of Network Security Best Practices.
• Understanding of Linux and/or MS Windows Environments.
• Understanding of VMWare Environments.
• Able to work on efforts independently and progress in a proactive fashion.
• Agile / Scrum experience a plus.

Expert Level

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Mill, SC.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
