Up to $5,000 sign‑on bonus based on eligibility. Under the direction of the nurse, performs sub‑professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living; operation and maintenance of equipment. Takes and records vital signs and I/Os. Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards. Performs other related duties as directed. Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned.
Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated. Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals. Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned. Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.
- Accurately checks patient’s blood sugar and documents results as ordered.
- Obtains vital signs appropriately based on patient’s age and condition. Reports abnormal findings immediately to attending or charge nurse.
- Performs patient interventions completely and proficiently within scope of practice and demonstrates age specific competency for population of patients served.
- Provides appropriate treatment in emergency situations as they arise (codes, patient falls).
- Performs related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of CNA course required.
- Previous work experience in a patient care role can meet education requirement.
- CNA must be certified within 6 months of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required, must be obtained within 7 days of hire.
- CPI required within orientation.
