Overview

Live Long Well Care is now accepting applications for Full Time Overnight Weekend CNA/Caregiver/Home Health Aides/Companions to provide personal care and companionship for seniors. Day positions on the weekends are available as well. CNA certification is not required but can be a plus and is paid a premium! Must be able to work weekends. Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

Services will be provided to various addresses/clients within a 30-mile radius of the branch address.

Must have an up-to-date smartphone for the electronic viewing and capture of Time and Attendance, Care Tasks, and Communication.

Location: Tega Cay, SC

Position Type: Full-time

Position Summary

This position reports to the CSM (Client Services Manager) and/or designated supervisor in accordance with Company policy and regulatory requirements. This position is synonymous with the positions of Companion, Housekeeper, Homemaker, and Chore Worker.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable of, interpret, and support the philosophy, purpose, mission, goals, policies, and standards of the organization.
  • Represent the company positively and promote safety and well-being for clients and employees.
  • Provide general assistance and care to patient/clients in accordance with the non-personal care plan.
  • Plan meals, purchase food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals per the non-personal care plan.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for the patient/client and family.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks (dishes, kitchen, laundry, linens) per the care plan.
  • Provide companionship as required and offer medication reminders.
  • Assist with transportation of the independent patient/client when directed by the supervisor.
  • Document services accurately and timely per agency policy.
  • Report changes in patient/client needs or incidents promptly to the supervisor.
  • Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and coworkers; participate in case conferences as appropriate.
  • Maintain and enhance skills through staff development and professional dress code adherence.
  • Fulfilling assignments with reliability and punctuality; cooperate with the care team; respond to needs in a timely manner; provide feedback for updates to the non-personal care plan.
Professional Conduct & Development
  • Participate in Quality Assessment and Improvement activities as assigned; communicate information for data analysis and improvement opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in internal staff development programs; obtain continuing education as required.
  • Maintain and enhance clinical practice skills; maintain confidentiality of patient and agency information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and respond to patient, office, or facility needs.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report for work on time and prepared to assume duties; adhere to dress code; record work accurately and legibly.
  • Follow policy for reporting sickness; schedule time off with supervision; vary schedules to meet agency needs.
  • Respond professionally to internal and external customers; offer assistance or direct to appropriate resources; wear  if required.
  • Comply with risk management, safety, infection control, TB screening, security, and fire requirements; provide a safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Assume responsibility for mandatory in-services, certification, licensure, and competencies as required.
Prerequisites
  • Education: High school graduation or GED required. Training programs completed if required by regulation or contract.

    Experience:

    Two years’ experience in a similar position desired; two years’ experience working with the elderly desired.
Skills / Competencies
  • Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Ability to work with minimal or close supervision; maintain confidentiality; conduct business professionally.
  • Pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for basics such as meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety in the home, emergencies, transportation, dog care.
