Overview
The Storage Infrastructure Engineer role is a contract-to-hire position focused on Cyber Vault administration, air-gapped vault workflows, backup and data protection, storage hardware, hypervisors, Storage Area Network (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), and cloud solutions. The successful candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and compliance of air-gapped backup systems and will be involved in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.

San Diego, CA. 3 days onsite per week.
- Design and implement storage infrastructure solutions including traditional storage hardware, SAN, NAS, and cloud storage.
- Cyber Vault Administration: manage secure, isolated storage environments (often used for ransomware recovery).
- Air-Gapped Vault Workflows: implement systems that are physically or logically disconnected from the network to protect backups from cyberattacks.
- Backup and Data Protection: ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance.
- Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery: plan and test recovery strategies for outages or cyber incidents.
- 7+ years of professional experience in storage engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Foundational storage knowledge: SAN, NAS, RAID, storage arrays, and performance tuning.
- Cyber Vault experience (e.g., Dell Cyber Recovery, IBM Safeguarded Copy, or similar).
- Data Protection practices: backup strategies, replication, snapshot management, and compliance standards.
- Air-Gapped ransomware protection design and implementation.
- Related technologies: VMware, Hyper-V; AWS, Azure; general server & networking knowledge.
- Security & compliance: ransomware mitigation techniques, encryption, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).
- Soft skills:
problem-solving, documentation, collaboration with security, networking, and application teams.

Pay & BenefitsPay range: $50.00 - $70.00/hr eligibility for benefits may apply. Benefits and eligibility terms may vary by classification and length of employment. Some benefits may require specific elections or plan terms.
