General SummaryThe Production Director is responsible for overseeing all technical and creative aspects of worship services and church events to ensure a seamless, engaging, and spiritually enriching experience. This role includes managing a team of volunteers, overseeing audio, video, lighting, and stage design, and collaborating closely with worship leaders and ministry teams. The Production Director ensures that all technical elements align with the church’s vision and mission, maintaining a high standard of excellence and fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and servant leadership.
PositionSpecific Duties
- Work with Production CTL on AVL design/project management for campus upgrades.
- Help with production training and volunteer development.
- As needed, backfill for production staff across campuses.
- Attend weekly campus specific staff meetings.
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of production elements for worship services and special events.
- Oversee the inventory, operation and maintenance of all audio, video, lighting equipment.
- Take lead on set design pre-fab, implementation plan, and rigging.
- Assist with the production needs for central Forest Hill Events.
- Process feedback and evaluations from weekend services.
- Effectively manage resources (people, time, money) for highest and best use.
- Manage and mentor Production volunteers.
- Collaborate with worship and creative teams to enhance the worship experience through technical and artistic innovation.
- Continue to monitor and learn about new trends in the Production industry.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. - Experience:
At least four years of experience in production or related field. - Skills:
Strong relational skills with production and worship staff. Strong organizational skills for maintaining complex AVL systems. Ability to interact professionally and courteously with church ministries. Ability to communicate effectively and ask for clarification when needed. - Knowledge:
Proficient knowledge of audio, video and lighting in a live environment. Proficient in AVL wiring, soldering, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Ability to trouble-shoot problems which may occur during a service and efficiently solve the issue. - Personal Qualities:
Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful. A strong commitment to the values and mission of Forest Hill Church. Capable of handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. Demonstrate passion for serving the local church and engaging all generations through Bible principles and essentials.
Employee performance will be formally evaluated on an annual basis by the Director of Production to review accomplishments, set goals and identify areas of improvement. In addition to the yearly review, performance evaluations may also be conducted as needed to address specific issues, provide feedback or recognize exceptional performance.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay oversee and coordinate the involvement of volunteers and contractors.
