Service Porter role at Mills Automotive Group

Base pay: $17.00/hr - $17.00/hr

Job Summary

The Service Porter at Mills Automotive Group plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dealership's service department. The Service Porter is our customers' first interaction upon arriving at our facility. We are looking for a people pleaser with strong hospitality skills. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry based in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

As an individual contributor, the Service Porter will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service department, assisting with customer service tasks, and supporting the department's overall efficiency.

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers competitive compensation, with an hourly rate of $15 to $17 paid semimonthly. In addition, employees will have access to benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers with a warm smile, and direct them to the appropriate advisor.
  • Actively listen to customers looking for opportunities to provide a bespoke experience.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the service department, including service bays, waiting areas, and workstations.
  • Move vehicles to and from service areas and ensure they are parked in designated areas.
  • Retrieve and deliver vehicles to customers upon completion of service.
  • Assist service advisors or technicians with retrieving parts or tools as needed.
  • Monitor and replenish supplies in the service department.
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a service or automotive setting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
