Senior Software Engineer

Dark Wolf Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications across the entire software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, possesses strong problem-solving abilities, and is capable of leading and mentoring a team of developers. This position requires full-time onsite work in Fort Meade, MD.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Software planning: defining project scope, goals, and timelines
• Requirements management: gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing stakeholder requirements
• Risk management:
  
  identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks and vulnerabilities
• Design: creating detailed design documents and prototypes
• Development: writing, testing, and refining code in various programming languages
• Architecture: designing and implementing software architectures, including microservices, monolithic, and event-driven architectures
• Modeling: creating conceptual, logical, and physical models of software systems
• Estimation: estimating effort, time, and resources required for software development tasks
• Documentation: ensure that all code written is properly documented, making it easier for other developers to understand, maintain, and modify the codebase
• Configuration management: controlling changes to software code, documentation, and other artifacts
• Quality assurance: ensuring software meets requirements, is reliable, and performs as expected
• Security: implementing secure coding practices, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with security regulations and standards
• Testing: developing and executing unit tests, integration tests, system tests, and acceptance tests

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software development
• Proficiency in Agile processes and procedures
• Proficiency with version control tools and technologies (e.g., Git, Git Lab, JIRA)
• Hands-on experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++)
• US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with an active Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph.
