Overview
Serve as a Cyberspace Mission Manager in the Cyber Tactical Operations Center. Exercise continuing responsibility for the coordination, approval, execution, and assessment of cyberspace planning and operations within the Headquarters Staff and the mission aligned task forces
Provide management and guidance on the command and control of all operations. Leads proactive, compliant, and effective cyberspace operations by leveraging forces and capabilities embedded with mission partners. Assists in directing and/or directly providing capabilities and operational planning support, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, for the Battle Staff during exercises and real-world emergency contingencies.
Validates the availability of resources to meet mission objectives. Allocates and schedules personnel and resources. Leads and contributes to the administration of controls, standards and guidance related to the execution of command planning and operations. Ensures the conduct of operations meet all necessary technical requirements. Tracks and communicates operational status; and evaluates and communicates operational outcomes.
Maintains professional relationships with multiple mission partners to integrate operational practices identify critical operational shortfalls and implement tailored solutions. Develops and supports situational awareness during the execution of JFHQ-C (Navy) operations. Briefs senior officials and decision makers within and from external organizations on the technical and operational aspects of cyber issues; often in a near real time environment.
Performs a broad range of analyses and studies to derive meaning from lessons learned and operational metrics to improve the ability to address anticipated operational challenges. Establishes assumptions, measures effectiveness of existing approaches, and evaluates available alternatives. For example, evaluates impacts of new cyber technologies and techniques on current systems and policies; analyzes the feasibility of making use of advanced analytical methods and tools, and assesses the potential effects of proposed policies on operations.
Provides findings and makes recommendations that, if accepted by the chain of command and implemented, have substantive effects of plans and decisions regarding key program issues like requirements definition, planning, and acquisition of major upgrades to existing assets, as well as new systems and capabilities that support operations. Represents the organization during visits with government and industry representatives.
Required Qualifications15 years of military and/or government professional experience supporting a cyber or cryptologic mission.
