Digital Media Forensics Specialist - Expert Overview

Digital Media Forensics Specialist to support the Army Counterintelligence Command (ACIC). Requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (TS/SCI) clearance.

• Support CI and CT investigations.
• Research, design, deploy, and lead training events.
• Evaluate emerging forensic technologies.
• Provide operational security assessments and support cyber forensic and cyber security tasks.
• Recover information from computers and storage devices; recover data such as documents, photos, and emails from deleted, damaged, or manipulated drives.
• Use forensic tools to find electronic data, including internet history, word processing documents, images, and other files.
• Identify hidden, deleted, or lost files.
• Assist officials in analyzing data and evaluating relevance.
• Protect computers from infiltration; determine intrusion methods; recover lost files.
• Document processes and develop intelligence-based reporting.
• Test and evaluate emerging trends in digital forensics software and hardware; assist in developing new processes and procedures.
• Perform all phases of forensic examination of digital media, including evidence acquisition, forensic analysis, and reporting; maintain chain of custody and adhere to applicable rules of evidence.
• Provide support for incident response, intrusion events, and malware analysis.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

• Current TS/SCI security clearance.
• Must meet one of the following:
  • High School Diploma with 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate’s degree with 17 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of two years of host-based forensic experience.
• DoD Digital Forensic Examiner (DFE) certification.
• Experience with mobile device forensics is highly desired.
• Certified Forensic Examiner (CFCE), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), or EnCase Certified Examiner highly desired.
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
