Journeyman Technical Writer

Base Pay Range

• Work in a discreet environment and handle sensitive information daily.
• Collect and organize information required for preparation of documents, training materials, guides, proposals, and reports with special attention to detail, organization, and multitasking.
• Interact with ongoing customers, team members/Leads, and employees via phone, Skype, and email.
• Handle and receive incoming and outgoing correspondence.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to write, review, and edit all technical documents for external distribution.
• Provide technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, and presentations.
• Review and edit documents from technical team members and other contributors for content, organization, accuracy, grammar, consistency, literary quality, and format in accordance with U.S. Cyber Command regulations and professional standards.
• Analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand.
• Recommend and develop diagrams, charts, and graphs to increase the user’s understanding.
• Explore a broad range of resources including library research, interviews with subject‑matter experts, and team meetings to obtain, analyze, and verify information, and manage records and files.
• Provide technical writing and editing assistance across Planning, Programs, and other U.S. Cyber Command divisions to improve overall quality and consistency of deliverable products.

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI polygraph.
• Five years of experience as a Technical Writer.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent writing skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and some team interaction.
• Solid understanding of scientific and technical subject matter, documentation content, and requirements.

Standard schedule with core hours of 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (Monday–Friday).

Fort Meade, MD. Remote or telework not permissible; this position is on the client site.
