Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a certified Heavy Duty Mechanic working from our Fort McMurray area of operations.

Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance

Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies

Communicate with site supervisor to coordinate maintenance priorities

Maintain maintenance records

Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Heavy Equipment Technician (Off Road) – Journeyman (Red Seal) Certified

Minimum 5 years of experience working with CAT, John Deere and Hitachi equipment

Minimum 5 years in Heavy Civil Earthworks Construction and/or Infrastructure

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Valid Class 5 operators license, but not limited to (candidate to provide current abstract)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule

CSTS/OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification

Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned

Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
