Jardeg is recruiting an Apprentice Welder for the CNRL Horizon site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent day shift position on a 7 days on / 7 days off shift rotation, working 12 hours per day. This is a maintenance position and all hours worked on the regular maintenance schedule are paid at straigt time. The start date is January 15th.
Camp accommodation is provided, and flights are provided out of the Calgary or Edmonton flight hubs.

As a welder apprentice, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Working knowledge of welding equipment involved with various welding procedures
- Have thorough knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filter rods.
- Use welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SAW to weld pressure piping.
- Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components under supervision
- Able to prepare, fit up and bridge tack weld pipe for SMAW/GTAW process.
- Have a working knowledge of the welding equipment involved with various welding procedures
- Must be a Registered Welder Apprentice
- Satisfactory Completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory 3 Year Driver’s Abstract
- CSTS 09 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Fire Watch
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Aerial Work Platform
- Basic Rigging
