Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Heavy Equipment Fuel and Lube Technicians to support our Fort McMurray operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily fueling and greasing of equipment and will assist Heavy Duty Technicians with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and maintaining equipment to high operational standards.
Responsibilities- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and standards
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Fuel and grease equipment on a daily basis
- Support Heavy Duty Technicians with maintenance tasks as needed
- Diagnose and repair equipment when required, including accurate documentation of repair orders
- Complete all repair and time-tracking documentation in accordance with company procedures
- Request parts as necessary and maintain proper inventory levels
- Keep service trucks clean, organized, and fully maintained
- Report safety concerns or violations immediately and correct unsafe acts or conditions
- Perform technical inspections and document findings
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, including oil, filter, air filter, and cabin filter changes
- Previous experience with heavy equipment maintenance
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong understanding of applicable safety practices and procedures
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with crew, Foreman, and Superintendent
- Valid Class 3 Operator’s Licence with air brakes (current driver’s abstract required)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray region and live in remote camps on a rotational schedule
- CSO, CSTS/OSSA or BSO certification
- Physically able to perform all duties of the position
- Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
