Overview

You’re collaborative, detail‑oriented, and committed to upholding essential safety services for the people around you. Alberta Health Services is seeking a dedicated Workplace Health and Safety Business Partnership (WHSBP) Safety Advisor to play the crucial role of ensuring a safe and healthy workforce, directly contributing to the delivery of high‑quality patient care for Albertans.

Responsibilities

Strategic partner in managing risks and leading the development and management of WHS initiatives and programs within your portfolio. Collaborate closely with workers, leaders, departments, sites, programs, and partners to provide ongoing support. Engage key players to provide best practice recommendations, resources, and direction with the goal of preventing worker injury and illness. Perform on‑site duties, including fit testing, supporting inspections, incident investigations, and Joint Workplace Health and Safety Committees.

Transport equipment and supplies to sites within your designated area to perform these duties effectively. Assist in the development of strategies that support WHS initiatives and programs, coordinate and deliver educational tools and resources, and lead the implementation of projects and programs that protect and enhance the health, safety, and wellness of AHS staff. Engage in change management by interpreting client needs, assessing requirements, and identifying innovative solutions to multifaceted and time‑sensitive challenges.
