Salary

Administrative Support 2 (AS2) based on 40 hours per week: $23.79 - $26.76 per hour

Administrative Support 3 (AS3) based on 36.25 hours per week: $23.34 - $29.53 per hour

Benefits & Additional Pay
  • 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave: 5.6% for paid holidays, 6% for annual vacation pay
  • Shift Premium Pay: $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays; $2.75 per hour for evenings

Role Responsibilities

Information Officer (IO) – a front‑line customer service role at registration booth/concession. Key duties include:

  • Register campers, process reservations, handle payments and refunds
  • Provide information on park activities, regulations, and nearby amenities
  • Ensure welcoming inclusive environment for all visitors in person, by phone or online
  • Manage time, detail orientation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Record safety, accident or wildlife occurrences and maintain lost & found records
  • Support distribution of informational materials and promotional items
  • Use  and ASPIRA software for transactions and POS
  • Maintain facility security, cleanliness, reporting maintenance issues
  • Communicate operating hours; manage retail sales and inventory
  • Respond to and defuse visitor concerns, emergencies, complaints; refer to appropriate departments

Seasonal District Support – support daily operations across district office, registration booths, camp stores and concessions.

Main responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for Information Officers; provide guidance and training on systems
  • Assist with POS management, cash handling, and revenue reconciliation
  • Input self‑registration data and reconcile sales; prepare bank deposits
  • Help Information Officers with cash discrepancies
  • Assist the Area Office Coordinator with administrative tasks
  • Support inventory management, cover staffing absences, mentor IOs
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day team tasks and ensure procedures are followed
  • Collaborate with other park program areas to meet visitor needs

Qualifications – Information Officer (AS2)
  • High school diploma.
  • Preference for experience with point of sales machines, retail, cash handling and/or customer service.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Availability for weekends, evenings and holiday shifts during the season.
  • Computer skills:
    Excel, Outlook, Word, Publisher.
  • Equivalency:
    One year of experience equals one year of education.
Qualifications – Seasonal District Support (AS3)
  • High School Diploma.
  • One year of supervisory or leadership experience and customer service experience.
  • Equivalency:
    One year of experience equals one year of education or vice‑versa.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Parks and experience with
  • Availability for weekends, evenings and holiday shifts during the season.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher).
  • Familiarity with campground operations, park regulations, etiquette, and surrounding amenities.
