Professional Science Tutor – Keokuk Campus
Position:
Professional Science Consultant (Tutor). Meet with students to provide tutoring in Anatomy & Physiology and Microbiology. Ideal candidate can also tutor in Chemistry. Report to the Learning Resources Coordinator.
- 12–16 hours per week, scheduled Monday–Thursday from 9am to 3pm.
- Runs with SCC Academic Calendar for Fall & Spring semesters; begin ASAP, run through May, then return in August for 2026–2027 academic year.
- Pay: $19 per hour; part‑time; not eligible for SCC benefits.
- Tutoring sessions are 50 minutes, starting on the hour.

Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree with sufficient collegiate coursework in Science; ability to assist students with Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and possibly Chemistry coursework.
- Excellent customer‑service skills.

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Human Health & Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, Nursing, Kinesiology, or another related field.
- Experience demonstrating sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Experience working as a Science Tutor or in a Tutoring Center.
- Experience working with adult learners.
- Basic technology knowledge.
