Job Title:Professional Math Tutor - Keokuk Campus
Job Description
The Professional Mathematics Consultant (Tutor) will meet with students to provide Math Tutoring services on the Keokuk Campus, under the supervision of the Learning Resources Coordinator.
- 12-16 hours per week, scheduled Monday-Thursday from 9am to 3pm.
- This position runs with the SCC Academic Calendar for Fall & Spring semesters. This position would begin ASAP, run through May, & return in August for the Academic Year.
- Pay rate is $19 per hour. These positions are part-time hourly positions, and are not eligible for SCC benefits.
- Tutoring sessions run 50 minutes beginning on the hour.
Keokuk, Iowa
Required Qualifications- Associate’s Degree with sufficient collegiate Math coursework & ability to assist students with Math coursework through Calculus I.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
A copy of unofficial transcripts must be sent as well.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Math.
- Experience that demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disabled backgrounds of community college students.
- Experience working as a Math Tutor or in a Tutoring Center.
- Experience working with adult learners.
- Base-level technology knowledge.
