Our client in the distribution industry is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic financial analysis. This role partners closely with senior leadership and plays a key role in driving financial performance, controls, and scalability.

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, review, and financial reporting
• Prepare and present financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to senior management
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive expense optimization initiatives
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements
• Oversee preparation of accurate financial statements and year-end reporting; support external reviews
• Maintain detailed work papers for balance sheet, P&L, and tax-related accounts

• Hands-on experience with ERP implementations and advanced reporting/analytics
• Experience with ERPs such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft NAV, or Xero
• Strong Excel skills;
  Power BI experience preferred
• Quick Books-only experience is not sufficient

• Master's degree in Accounting (required)
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  , including Controller/Comptroller-level leadership
• Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Proven people leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience outside of professional services and banking
• Strong preference for candidates from distribution and/or web-based sales environments
