Our client’s organization’s office is located in Fort Lee, NJ, which is known for its great neighborhoods and top education systems in New Jersey. A super‑easy commute to Manhattan, NY is only a 5‑minute drive via the George Washington Bridge, offering a scenic view of the Hudson River and the Upper West Side.

Additionally, the location is within a 15‑20 minute drive to major international airports, A‑rated shopping malls, restaurants, country clubs, golf ranges, and walking distance to great cafes, bars and the local theater. There are frequent and multi‑route NJ Transit buses to and from Manhattan as well as nearby neighborhoods.

Position Overview

Our client is searching for a Korean/American bilingual candidate with experience as a CFO/COO in Wealth, Investment Management, and Investment‑Portfolio Management, and/or banking experience, to collaborate with the team at the CEO’s Family Office Investment Portfolio.

Objectives of this role
  • Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial and business reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs.
  • Coordinate the development of establishing annual projections, capital, and budget allocation, as well as reporting for the same.
  • Develop and oversee the company’s investment strategy, portfolio management, and capital allocation.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day‑to‑day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal‑control activities of the organization.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well‑controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross‑team communications, and workflows.
Responsibilities
  • Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
  • Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, and identify areas for efficient tax management and proactive tax‑saving measures and process enhancement.
  • Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure.
  • Oversee a family office’s investment strategies, portfolio management, and financial growth initiatives.
  • Oversee HR operations by coordinating with external service providers (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruitment) and internal staff responsible for other aspects of HR.
  • Monitor business and investment performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for the management team and the rest of the family office.
  • Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities.
  • Design and implement investment policies, risk management frameworks, and financial models.
  • Evaluate and manage private equity, fixed income, derivatives, real estate, and alternative investment portfolios.
  • Lead the financial analysis and execution of new investment opportunities.
  • Define and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee due diligence processes for potential acquisitions, mergers, and partnerships.
  • Report investment performance, portfolio risks, and financial forecasts to the CEO.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
  • Knowledge of investment in public and private equities and portfolio management.
