Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsRequires two (2) years experience operating heavy equipment related to area of assignment or closely related experience.
Special Certifications and LicensesMust secure and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class
B) for duration of appointment. Must secure and maintain for the duration of employment - Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) access with Customs and Border Protection Seal. All Aviation Maintenance Division employees must be able to perform rotational shift work and/or overtime (holidays, weekends and emergencies) in support of operational needs in a twenty-four (24) hour per day/seven (7) days per week operation and in accordance with a collective bargaining agreement, if applicable.
Per the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, Part 1542, all airport employees must undergo a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in order to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
- Associates Degree or higher
- Airport Runway Rubber Removal Truck Operation Certificate
- Florida Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- 2+ years of Airfield and Ramp Driving Experience
- 2+ years of Part 139 Inspection/Repair Experience
- 2+ years of Commercial Lawn Maintenance Equipment Experience
- 2+ years of Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Experience
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Ability to operate a small truck or van, truck/trailer combination, forklift, bucket truck, dump truck, Crosswind street sweepers, 524 Wheel Loader (front loader) for working in public area, Power Washing Truck (rubber removal and paint removal), a heavy duty lawn mower, tools, materials and equipment common to lawn and shrub maintenance. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of smaller dump and stake body trucks, water carriers, tractors, wreckers and similar vehicles used in varied operations throughout the County.
Acts as lead operator on-site supervising labor crew as needed (including Equipment Operators and Maintenance Workers) with assigned tasks or acts as sub-foreman on landscape or construction jobs. Provide instruction and/or training to Equipment Operators on the use of various equipment as needed.
