Heavy Diesel ASE Certified Truck Shop Technician

Tired of winters? Come to Sunny South Florida! Position requires a Senior ASE Certified Technician with strong computer and interpersonal skills. Responsible for the regular, emergency, and maintenance service of vehicles and equipment at two central locations with occasional field work. Ability to diagnose and perform repairs on Solid Waste Collection Vehicles and Heavy Off Road Equipment, including Front, Rear Load, Roll Off Trucks, Off Road Equipment, and light‑duty support vehicles.

Work with up to five people in one location. Shift may be erratic due to the nature of the business and the various shifts equipment operates.

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles (trucks, heavy equipment, etc.) using specialized tools and computer diagnostics to fix issues with engines, brakes, electronics, hydraulics and more.
• Participate in the day‑to‑day operations with other employees in the maintenance shop.
• Coordinate all maintenance work and repairs, monitor progress and quality, on a priority basis.
• Review driver repair requests and other maintenance requests, and prepare work order documents.
• Perform mechanical service duties efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Monitor inventory of replacement parts and restock as needed.
• Oversee lower‑ranked personnel, including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance for management.
• Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies and safety regulations.
• Create and submit progress or advisory reports as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED (accredited) minimum required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience required.
• Minimum Class B CDL license required.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations applicable to the role, including any ASE or other formal training certificates in Heavy Truck Repair, Hydraulics, Air Conditioning, Diesel Mechanics (including electronic, diagnostic, after‑treatment, etc.).
• Experience with Volvo, Allison, J‑Pro, and Cummins diagnostics.
• Strong problem‑solving and technical skills, and physical stamina.
• Maintenance and repairs skills experience required.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
• Welding experience preferred.
