The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the requirements of all Cooper City Facilities. You will work with designated Facilities Manager/Supervisor to coordinate the use of outside contractors for maintenance and building projects, ensuring services provided are safe, cost effective and efficient. This will involve preparing requests that include details and justification for using outside sources for projects and utilizing the pre-approved contractor list as appropriate.

What

You'll Do As a Facilities Maintenance Technician:
  • Routine cleaning of facilities and grounds to ensure safety and a respectable appearance.
  • Move furniture and fixtures as required. Set up and take down equipment for meetings. Install/remove locks from fixtures.
  • Conduct periodic facility inspections. This includes check lights and all other areas for needed replacement(s), safety issues, preventative maintenance or other improvements.
  • Receive, log, and provide follow-up on all maintenance requests from other departments. Purchase of inventory of needed supplies and the ability to be on call for alarms, and emergency call outs.
  • Responsibilities will also be greater when Maintenance Supervisor is off-site or on vacation.
  • Perform as needed repairs on minor electrical equipment. Perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and painting tasks as required.
  • Perform and document routine periodic inspections for safety emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and other equipment.
  • Work in a team work environment and communicate in a professional manner.
  • Ability to manage various tasks in a defined period of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
The Experience,

Skills and Abilities

Needed:

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3-5 years of basic maintenance experience such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs (could include internships or course curriculum).
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to drive corporate vehicles.
  • Knowledge and use of handheld tools.

Other

  • Analyze problems with facility/systems and consult with supervisor on solution.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Knowledge and practice of working in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work with various contractors and supervise if needed.

Pay range for this opportunity is $21.35/hr - $27.63/hr this position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
