SMI Security is currently seeking professional and reliable Bilingual Security Guards to join our team at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. This position is ideal for candidates who are computer savvy, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced maritime and logistics environment. Security officers assigned to this location will play an important role in maintaining the safety and security of port operations by monitoring access points, assisting visitors and personnel, and ensuring compliance with port security regulations.

• Daytime shifts.
• Shift window between 4:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
• While the operational window is up to 12 hours, scheduled shifts will be 8 hours.
• Full-time position.
• Must have flexible availability, including weekends and varying schedules based on port operations.

• Monitor and control access to port facilities and restricted areas.
• Verify credentials and maintain proper documentation for authorized personnel and visitors.
• Utilize computer systems to log entries, incidents, and daily activities.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors and port personnel.
• Provide professional customer service to employees, vendors, and visitors.
• Conduct patrols of assigned areas to ensure safety and compliance with port regulations.
• Report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or security violations immediately.
• Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports.

• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must be computer savvy and comfortable using security or access control systems.
• Must hold a valid and active Class D Security License.
• Must hold a valid and active TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced port environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
