Event Security Guard – D War Memorial​/Baptist Health IcePlex, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Overview

Event Security Guard – D License Required with the War Memorial Auditorium / Baptist Health Ice Plex and The Florida Panthers. This is a part‑time, event‑based security role requiring a valid Florida Class D (D License) for ingress point security and guest safety during events.

The Florida Panthers Hockey Club operates four facilities in Broward County, Florida, and the War Memorial Auditorium hosts concerts and events. The organization is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer.

• Monitor access to restricted areas and exterior doors to maintain a secure environment for visitors.
• Control guest and vendor access to the arena during events and check credentials for employees and visitors.
• Inspect items and screen guests for prohibited items, using magnetometers or security wands as required.
• Monitor and respond to security issues during events and escort guests when needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience.
• Follow safety and security policies, programs, and procedures, with the ability to manage crisis situations.
• Communicate professionally via radios and coordinate with other staff.
• Report incidents to the Supervisor or Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid State of Florida D Security License is required for this position.
• Previous experience in security and customer service is preferred.
• Upbeat, friendly, service‑oriented attitude with a willingness to help people.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Assertive, detail‑oriented, team player with a professional demeanor; able to work independently if necessary.
• Flexible schedule and availability on weekends, nights, and occasional holidays.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass background check.

Lifting: Up to 30 pounds;
Talking/Hearing: Communicating verbally and perceiving sounds at normal levels;
Vision: Visual acuity for monitoring facilities;

This is a part‑time hourly position. Hours are based on event schedules and mainly include nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
