Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for an experienced Senior Group Sales Manager to support our efforts at the gorgeous property, The Dalmar & Element Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for the achievement of the hotel’s group booking objectives, by consistently achieving personal booking goals while assisting other department members to do the same. Routine activities include representing the company to customers, the public, government, other external sources;
developing and performing all sales activities in assigned market(s); listening to customer needs, analyzing this information, and creating tailored proposals; negotiating and closing sales while meeting or exceeding targets; impressing customers with quality and timely service, and working with management throughout the hotel and the Company.
- Revenue Generation and Account Management:
Represent the Company and hotel professionally, communicate with customers, understand market trends, convey hotel features, and discuss advantages. - Research, Identification & Sales Development:
Research demand generators, new business sources, internet prospects, community involvement, competitor hotels, industry reports, and develop effective sales strategies. Build business relationships, identify sale opportunities, and represent the Company at trade association meetings. - Proactive and Creative Sales:
Exercise creativity and independent judgment to assemble events tailored to customers. Conduct site visits, prepare proposals, resolve cost concerns, pursue opportunities, network, and maximize event space revenue. - Negotiate and Close Sales:
Influence customers to choose the hotel, negotiate terms, develop contingency plans, recognize loyalty, sell to fill dates, upsell hotel services, capture profitable business, and exceed sales goals. - Account Management:
Maintain cooperative relationships with customers, deliver high customer service, solve problems, meet commitments, communicate with Banquet, Culinary, and other departments for smooth event execution. - Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and associates.
- Set the example and tone in the sales department by consistently exceeding personal booking goals and maintaining all required booking processes.
- Support and assist the property sales managers in all revenue generation and account management activities.
- Monitor incoming leads and ensure proper assignment and timely follow‑through.
- Compile and maintain required sales reports, uphold a clean GRC, and manage the booking funnel.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales and transactions; complete all required reporting timely and accurately; provide management with accurate information and comply with corporate policies, procedures, government laws, and regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of hotel sales related experience, including catering and group room sales.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
- Familiarity with Delphi system preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of sales principles and practices.
- Ability to analyze data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other relevant sales tools.
