General FunctionThe Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Greets all customers with a warm welcome, exchanges names, and ensures they know what to expect.
- Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescription in lenses.
- Acts as a leader in optical acumen that provides a voice for associates.
- Takes and records measurements, adjusts or fits eyewear correctly, and ensures finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
- Attracts new customers and explores their needs by asking open‑ended questions.
- Reviews prescriptions, identifies special needs, and assists co‑workers with complex product or prescription questions.
- Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
- Performs work accurately and thoroughly using technology under time pressure, demonstrating superior product knowledge and effectively communicating lens and frame benefits.
- Anticipates problems, explores reasons for customer issues, and resolves them quickly, partnering with management as necessary.
- Multi‑tasks, prioritizes, and manages time across competing priorities.
- Commits to delivery dates, seeks feedback, and asks for referrals.
- Seeks to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Presents, celebrates, and educates customers at pick‑up.
- Takes pride in store appearance, keeps the store clean and organized, and protects company assets.
- Informs management of safety opportunities and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Displays a “can‑do” spirit, strong drive for results, and a desire for continual learning.
- Adheres to company policies, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
- Sells on the feet 80‑100% of the time.
- Completes additional duties as assigned, such as customer calls or dispensing eyewear.
- Maintains proper dress code, name tag, and associate tablet.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer‑service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
Employee pay is determined by geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage.
