Fort Lauderdale Marriott North is looking for a highly motivated Banquet Server to join our team. This individual will help to set up and prepare banquet rooms for banquet functions, serve and bus tables, and clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.

• Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and placing centerpieces.
• Serve by picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays to the function location, serving food, and clearing food from tables.
• Break down by bussing tables, putting away dirty linens and centerpieces, and vacuuming.
• Clean back hall and organize storerooms.
• Set up for AM or PM break stations that include coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
• Assist as needed with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.
• Perform food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and stocking workstations.
• Serve food and beverages to guests; remove dishes, glasses, and utensils from tables and transport to the kitchen.
• Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and seating after guests are finished.
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods, and ingredients.
• Consider any special requests and dietary issues made by guests.
• Provide general property information and offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests.
• Interact with staff professionally and assist other departments with necessary information.
• Ensure final quality checks on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
• Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
• Address guest issues promptly and with care.
• Provide assistance to other event and restaurant staff as needed.
• Maintain awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, broken locks, suspicious persons).

• 2-4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service
• Experience in a 4-star, 5-star venue with synchronized service
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexible schedule
• Reliable transportation
