Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The RN will deliver advanced, high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with complex or life‑threatening conditions. This role requires collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and nursing staff to provide patient‑centered care that aligns with hospital policies and unit standards.
The ICU RN plays a critical role in patient advocacy, clinical assessment, and intervention, ensuring the safety and well‑being of patients while supporting families throughout the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and specialized nursing care for critically ill patients in the Medical/Surgical ICU.
- Perform through assessments, administer treatments, and evaluate patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and manage emergency situations effectively.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Float to other units as assigned when patient care needs arise.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU/CCU or CVICU nursing experience (required)
- Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills in high‑pressure environments.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
- Clinical competence in managing complex patient conditions.
- Successful completion of Critical Care Course required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Current Florida RN License (unrestricted).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Critical Care certification preferred (CCRN).
