Job Description

Summary:

The Technical Project Manager plays an important role supporting the development team and ensuring smooth delivery of software projects from planning through release. This role requires someone who can gather requirements, coordinate with Product, translate needs for engineering, and keep work moving through the Agile process. The Technical Project Manager helps organize team ceremonies, improves delivery practices, and removes blockers so teams can focus on building high quality software.

This position requires strong facilitation skills, comfort working with technical concepts, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting continuous improvement in how the development team operates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Project Leadership:

Manage and prioritize projects that support software development, platform enhancements and

technical operations.

Define project scopes, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with business goals.

Lead Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives) to ensure efficient

team collaboration.

Product and Requirements Support:

Partner closely with Product to gather requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and ensure user stories

are ready for development.

Translate business needs into actionable items for engineering teams.

Maintain well-organized backlogs and ensure work aligns with roadmap priorities.

Team Coordination and Communication:

Serve as the liaison between engineers, Product, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure shared

understanding of goals, progress, and dependencies.

Communicate updates, risks, and timelines clearly across teams.

Surface blockers early and work with leads to resolve issues that slow down delivery.

Issue Resolution and

Risk Management:

Identify project risks, technical challenges, and dependency gaps early.

Track and manage issues in Jira, ensuring items move through the workflow efficiently.

Support teams in prioritizing defects, improvements, and unplanned work.

Process Optimization:

Continuously improve team processes, including sprint workflows, requirements intake, and delivery coordination.

Support adoption of best practices for Agile project management and team collaboration.

Help standardize templates, workflows, and reporting to improve efficiency and transparency.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain detailed project documentation, including requirements, timelines, and release notes.

Provide regular progress updates to leadership, including metrics and KPIs that reflect team

performance and delivery health.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of technical project management experience within a software development environment.

Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.

Ability to work closely with engineers and understand technical concepts at a practical level.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple work streams with an execution-focused mindset.

Strong collaboration skills with experience enabling teamwork in a cross-functional environment.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Scrum or Agile development teams.

Familiarity with SDLC practices such as grooming, sprint planning, QA handoff, release coordination,

and backlog management.

Certifications such as PMP or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

Certificate Preference:

Project Management Professional (PMP)

Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Work Location

This position can be remote while providing support to internal teams, offshore partners, and stakeholders. Availability for virtual collaboration is required for decision-making and project coordination.

Working Hours

This is an exempt role requiring flexibility to work the hours needed to meet project demands. Core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with additional hours as needed.

Travel

This position may require domestic travel as well as attendance at various local conferences and meetings.
