Overview
Join our market-leading IT Security Value-Added Reseller (VAR) as an Information Security Engineer. This is a hybrid position, working predominantly from home with occasional travel and in office work in Ft Lauderdale, FL. You will assist our customers with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of security products, including firewall gateways, endpoint protection platforms, secure web gateways, advanced threat detection systems, and other advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Deployment and Maintenance: Assist in the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various security systems, including firewalls, VPN appliances, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Documentation: Help develop and maintain documentation for operational use and customer reports. Record troubleshooting steps and resolutions for issues.
- Security Procedures: Follow network and security configuration procedures to ensure best practices.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest security concepts and technologies to enhance our service offerings.
- On-Call Support: Participate in a rotating "on call" schedule with the engineering team to ensure 24/7 support. Be prepared for after-hours work and occasional overnight travel.
- Customer Interaction: Provide support to customers both over the phone and on-site, ensuring the protection of their data and systems.
- Security Knowledge: Basic understanding of internet security and familiarity with firewalls and security solutions.
- Technical
Skills:
Basic proficiency in Linux/Unix and TCP/IP internetworking, with an understanding of application protocols. - Problem-Solving: Proficient problem-solving capabilities with a customer-oriented approach.
- Communication: Effective written, oral, and telephone communication skills. Ability to document and convey technical information clearly.
- Team
Collaboration:
Team player who can work under pressure and within a diverse group. - Compliance: Must be able to legally work in the United States and satisfactorily complete background check.
