Manager of Learning and Development – Fort Lauderdale – 0277
Greenspoon Marder LLP is seeking a Manager of Learning and Development to design, deliver, and maintain high‑impact training programs for legal and non‑legal staff across all U.S. offices. This role fosters a culture of continuous learning, ensures staff proficiency in firm technology, and elevates client service excellence.
Responsibilities- Deliver new hire and ongoing training classes and provide personalized technology coaching to lawyers and professional staff via virtual sessions, eLearning, classroom, 1:1, and presentations.
- Supervise the training team, delegate duties for weekly new hire training, scheduling, specialty training programs, projects, performance, timesheets, and PTO.
- Implement and maintain new and ongoing training initiatives and programs for all employees to support development and growth.
- Develop and maintain the GM Training Curriculum, a master document containing all programs, instructional methodologies, sequence, and duration for onboarding and specialty trainings.
- Design, develop, and update training programs, creating performance‑based courses, work instructions, and training aids to ensure effective learning and application of technology tools.
- Manage workflows and respond to training requests, including training hotlines, email addresses, and calendars.
- Draft, proofread, evaluate, and finalize training outlines and learning materials.
- Ensure training environments (classroom, conference rooms, and virtual settings) are set for effective learning.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to customize training and content to meet the needs of practice groups, administrative departments, and user roles across the firm.
- Contribute to and maintain a robust knowledge base, including instructional videos, guides, and other documentation for continuous learning and just‑in‑time assistance.
- Support technology implementation, ensuring training materials and support align with established workflows and user needs.
- Identify gaps in technology proficiency that may impact client service or operational efficacy and collaborate on targeted remediations.
- Partner with IT teams to develop and deliver curriculum and communications that prepare users and drive adoption.
- Track and analyze training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and usage data to continuously improve learning outcomes.
- Stay current with legal technology trends and best practices to keep training content relevant.
- Travel to other offices for new hire training, project rollout training, and support.
- Remain flexible with duties and shift hours to cover training needs from other regions.
- Maintain records and documentation, including attendance tracking and continuous refinement of training methods.
- Maintain firm‑wide and regional office training schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent positional experience.
- 3–5 years delivering technology training in a law firm.
- Proficiency with core legal technologies (iManage, Compare, Elite, Power
PDF/Acrobat, e‑signature, dictation/transcription, Word styling programs, docketing systems, etc.) and ability to apply them in legal workflows. - Advanced skills in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, and Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) with instructional capability.
- Proficiency with learning management platforms and instructional/training material creation tools (Litmos, Scribe, Canva).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, explaining complex tools clearly to users at all levels.
- Strong writing skills, creating engaging, user‑friendly materials tailored to specific audiences.
- Proven problem‑solving skills with a proactive, service‑oriented approach.
- Highly organized, managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborative team player, able to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on commitments.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.
